Everything Ghana importers ask us about shipping from China — transit times, cost, duty, restricted cargo, payment and tracking.
How long does shipping from China to Ghana take?
Sea LCL is 30–38 days door-to-door and FCL is 28–34 days. Times vary by sailing schedule and clearing speed.
How much does it cost to ship 1 CBM from China to Ghana?
Sea LCL from Guangzhou or Yiwu to Tema starts at $340–$360 per CBM all-in, including ocean freight, Tema clearing and Accra delivery. See our rate sheet.
Do I need an import licence?
Most goods only require a TIN and Ghana Card. Food, drugs, cosmetics and electronics may need FDA, Standards Authority or NCA permits. We advise per shipment.
Can I ship from many suppliers in one shipment?
Yes — use our free Yiwu or Guangzhou warehouse address. We receive, inspect and consolidate everything as one consignment.
How do I track my cargo?
Enter your tracking number on the tracking page. You'll see receipt at China warehouse, departure, ocean leg, arrival at Tema, clearing and delivery.
What is the difference between LCL and FCL?
LCL groups your cargo with others in a shared container, priced per CBM. FCL is a 20ft, 40ft or 40HC container exclusively for you, priced as a flat rate.
What items cannot be shipped from China to Ghana?
Drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, used underwear and second-hand electronics older than five years are prohibited. Lithium batteries, liquids and powders need special handling.
How do I pay Speed Cargo?
Bank transfer (GHS or USD), mobile money (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo), Alipay or USDT for China-side payments.
How is sea freight cost calculated?
By volume (CBM) for LCL and by container size for FCL. 1 CBM = 1 m × 1 m × 1 m. We charge the higher of actual volume or weight (1 ton = 1 CBM equivalent).
